Things That Make Me Go Hmmmm....Part 8
I've yet to understand this one. How people can stay in a relationship with someone that they can't see themselves building a future with.

  I *BLANK* NY
Ok, I needed to post something new and get my writing chops back. I'm beginning to feel like a slacker. At any rate, I'm in a new phase of this journey called life. Literally and figuratively. I graduated in May 2008 with an MS in New Media from Syracuse U. and am now living in Brooklyn, NY and working in Manhattan. I've developed a sort of love/hate relationship for the city but the love is slowly outweighing the hate. I'll just say this, there's no other city that I can see myself living in right now nor do I want to live anywhere else.

Strangely, too, is I've developed a series of crushes and truth be told I hate having crushes. They usually only lead to let down and disappointment. I probably sound like a real Debbie Downer but it's true. I feel like I'm getting to old to have crushes anyway. I also notice that most of the guys I'm attracted to all seem to be either married or in relationships. There's something different about a taken man. Not that I'd ever go after one. I'm not a home wrecker. They just seem more laid back and not so desperate.

What Have I Gotten Myself Into?
I have a new found respect for educators. They have a lot riding on their shoulders. I'm a Teaching Assistant and it's tough. I just recently graded exams for the class I'm a TA for and that was brutal. I wanted to give everyone an "A" but I couldn't. And trying to explain to someone that their answer didn't answer the question seems straightforward enough but somehow I still find myself listening to pleas of woe. Never again will I give teachers or professors a hard time. They should be the highest paid people in the world if you ask me.

  Random Acts of Bloggness
I can't believe my last post was Oct. 3, 07! At anyrate, I was at the library today and was hit with the realization that the library as a "quiet" space no longer exists. I mean it amazes me to now end the number of times I hear cell phones ringing or the people holding conversations on them in a normal tone as if they were at home. Then there's the other modern convenience; laptops. Granted, I have a laptop and I use it everywhere I must admit that the sound of keys tapping and mouses clicking bothers me a little. Only when I need to really concentrate (or take a nap). And let me not forget about the ever popular Microsoft start-up and shutdown music that can be heard clear across a room.

On the flip side, it's also kind of sad to even go to a library. Almost everyone is in front of a computer. The only books being read are the ones assigned by the professors. Then there's the lack of overall technology used or available in the library. For starters power outlets are a scarce resource. And the layout could stand to evolve as well. Don't get me wrong books are still important but there are some obvious changes taking place in the world around the library. I think it's time they embrace the change.
